The designer Anton Brousseau creates a futuristic design concept of electric motorcycle controlled by neural connection. Focus on the Moto Sapien project.

Agreed, a vehicle controlled by the human brain, that is nothing new in itself. It is even the basis of driving. The fundamental difference, however, with Moto Sapien is that Anton Rousseau’s concept bike (formerly of the Austrian studio Kiska in charge of KTM and Husqvarna) explores a future where the human brain would be “connected” to the motorcycle.

Motorcycle of the future

Moto Sapien is an electric motorcycle concept with a futuristic approach to say the least. Starting with its style, worthy of a science fiction film, straight out of the imagination of an extraterrestrial, a visionary or… an enlightened man. The silhouette is sharp, perforated, and very forward-looking. We could even see the look of a Ducati Streetfighter.

In the lower part, carbon in abundance, as well as an imposing power unit behind which is the electric motor in a central position, coupled with a belt transmission. According to the presentation video, the lighting is provided by LED strips at the front and at the back.

A kind of central projector also seems to sweep, in order to scan the environment and the traffic in front of the motorcycle. Still according to the video, the pilot equips himself with a “Neuralink” helmet in order to establish a direct connection between his brain and the machine.

MotoSapien Concept motorcycle: 100 kW and 450 km (280 miles) range

But here is the most interesting fact: once the pilot and his Neuralink are connected, the motorcycle responds to artificial muscles animated by electrochemical control.

The goal: “to drive the motorcycle directly, in a few milliseconds, thanks to… our thoughts. Everything happens indirectly, through the eyes and ears”. Cameras are also placed in the front and back. We can thus imagine a particularly sensitive connection between the road, the motorcycle, and the pilot.

In terms of performance, the Moto Sapien unsurprisingly relies on electric operation. The study’s zero-emission engine develops 100 kW (136 hp), and is powered by a large battery given a 450 km range.

If the concept is attractive, it may take a while before seeing this type of machine even in the test phase. Because, while waiting for the arrival of this new type of motorcycle, you will still have to use your head, hands and legs in the old fashioned way to drive your machine.

The MotoSapien Concept Motorcycle in a nutshell
