How did the TOGG Project Start?
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, repeating the 100% domestic automobile target in 2011, said, “I think there is a brave man in this country who will do this job. Now a domestic car would be worthy.” For this purpose, Anadolu Group, BMC, Kök Group, Turkcell, Zorlu Holding and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) joined forces to establish Turkey’s Automobile Initiative Group Industry and Trade Inc. (TOGG) on June 25, 2018. .

What are the features of the TOGG factory?
Turkey’s automobile TOGG’s factory is built on an area of 1.2 million square meters on the huge campus, where all production stages of the domestic automobile are carried out, from paint to assembly, in the 230 thousand square meter factory.
The 250 robots in the facility play the main role, especially in the body section. The automation rate in the factory is 90 percent. Thanks to these automation systems, it is possible to produce 1 vehicle in 3 minutes.
Robots assembling the main bodies hand over the task after welding and joining to the robots in the dyehouse. The body, which is painted with the latest technology, is then assembled in the assembly section. The vehicles produced this year will be subjected to type approval tests in order to enter foreign markets. The type approval includes 92 tests and 16 regulations.
The vehicles in production are controlled from approximately 600 different points, and the model of the vehicle that will get off the band can be changed within 15 seconds. In other words, SUV model production turns into sedan production in seconds. This time of 15 seconds is considerably shorter than in modern automobile factories.
A total of 630 people work at the TOGG facility. Together with TOGG’s other buildings in different places, the total number is around 1400 for now. However, the target is 4,300 people over the years. The domestic car will be on the roads in March.
First Prototype Introduced in 2019
Turkey’s highly anticipated domestic car was first showcased on 27.12.2019 in Gebze Informatics Valley. The name of the new car was introduced with the “TOGG” logo, which is the abbreviation of Turkey’s Automobile Initiative Group, and it was later decided to continue with this name.
At the presentation, the white sedan and red SUV models of the TOGG brand domestic car were shown. After the cars took the stage, President Erdoğan got into the red TOGG and stood in the middle of the two cars and posed for the cameras.
What are the TOGG’s features?
Turkey’s Car will reach 80 percent occupancy with fast charging in under 30 minutes. The car, which will have “300+” and “500+” kilometer range options with its inborn electric modular platform, will be constantly connected to the center and will be able to receive updates remotely via 4G/5G connection.
Equipped with a long-lasting battery pack provided by advanced battery management and active thermal management systems, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under 7.6 seconds with 200 horsepower and 4.8 seconds with 400 horsepower.
With the battery integrated into the platform, compatible with Euro NCAP 5-star level, it will have high crash resistance and 30 percent more torsional strength. Charging technology 80% charge in 30 minutes in 2023. In 2025, it will have an 80% filling rate in 8 minutes.
TOGG will be produced in 5 different models
TOGG, Turkey’s first domestic electric car, goes on sale in the first quarter of 2023. TOGG, which will be produced in the TOGG Gemlik factory and will surpass its competitors with its features, will be offered for sale in 5 models.
It will go into production with the TOGG C-SUV model in the first place. Then, TOGG will appear in the automobile market with C-Sedan, C-Hatchback, B-SUV and C-MPV models, respectively.
It is planned as 5 different models until 2030. The first vehicle will be on the road in the first quarter of 2023 with the C SUV. In the first half of 2025, the C-Sedan will be on the roads in 2026 the C-X Coupé. Work continues for B-SUV and MPV models.
It will hit the roads with 6 different color options
Togg named the exterior colors of the car, which was inspired by the fascinating beauties of Turkey, as “Anatolia”, “Gemlik”, “Oltu”, “Kula”, “Cappadocia” and “Pamukkale”.
How Much Will TOGG’s Price Be?
Anadolu Group’s Chairman of the Board Tuncay Özilhan said, “TOGG remains within the 10 percent SCT segment. We calculated the SCT as 7 percent when we were doing the feasibility. There is an excess of three points in the SCT.”
When calculated according to the SCT zone, TOGG’s C-segment SUV model is expected to be around 900 thousand liras. TOGG, which will start mass production as of the end of October, will go on sale in February 2023.
Regarding the TOGG price in a live broadcast he attended, President Erdoğan said, “They have already started asking the price. I gave a clear answer at the opening of the Gemlik Campus.
TOGG said it will be competitive when it goes on sale. It will be able to compete with vehicles in its class. Before we hit the road in March, we will determine the price and take steps accordingly. We will talk about everything from A to Z then.”
Fast Charging Stations to be Established in 81 Provinces of Turkey
Togg @TruGoCharging, which received the Charging Network Operator license from EMRA to install high-performance chargers across Turkey, will offer an end-to-end uninterrupted experience to all electric vehicle users with devices over 180 kWh in 81 provinces.
By the middle of 2023, 1000 Trugo chargers will be installed in 81 provinces, at more than 600 points, with a total of 2000 sockets. There will be trugo charging stations every 25 kilometers on routes with high traffic density and every 50 kilometers in other regions.
With high-speed chargers, the charge rate of a battery can reach from 20 percent to 80 percent in an average of 25 minutes. 100 percent renewable energy source certified service will be provided in the devices.
Thanks to the high-performance charging network that will be accessible to all electric vehicle owners in Turkey, users’ range concerns will be eliminated.
Multimedia Display Produced by Vestel
The screens of Togg’s multimedia systems are produced by Vestel. In addition, Togg’s localized operating system runs on Android, while these operating systems run on the Snapdragon SA8155P processor platform produced by Qualcomm.
The front console of the vehicle has a screen developed by Vestel. In the first two sections in front of and to the right of the driver, there are driving information, vehicle information, systems and screens where you control the rides.
At the bottom is the main control screen. Except for the ghost screen (digital display driver screen) in front of the driver, the screens are touchscreen. Users will experience these screens and use them like a smartphone or tablet. In addition, advanced sensors will detect whether the driver is tired or not.
