How Does The SOS Button Works In Cars?

0

Have you ever seen these buttons on your car? The SOS key, called “eCall”, is an emergency call device connected to an accident detector. So how does it work?

What happens when you press the SOS button?

When you press the “SOS button” in your car, your on-board computer will activate the semi-automatic SOS service. A few seconds after pressing the SOS button, your vehicle will automatically call 911 or other emergency numbers wherever you are.

The SOS device, also called “eCall”, which is mandatory in all new vehicles as of April 1, 2018, is a button located either higher on the front panel or on the roof, next to the side light switches. This device is a real built-in emergency call system!

F1 British Grand Prix 2022 winner-min

This Sunday, July 3, 2022 takes place the British Grand Prix. On the occasion of this tenth round of the world championship, Carlos Sainz, who took pole position, and the 19 other drivers meet at Silverstone.

The British Grand Prix at Silverstone remains an unprecedented event in a Formula 1 season. Host of the first race in the history of the world championship in 1950 , Silverstone is a circuit historically anchored to the premier class. If the layout has sometimes had to give way to Brand Hatch or Aintree, fans still have a special attachment to Silverstone. 5.891 km long and comprising 18 bends, the British layout requires single-seaters to have a great ability to swallow the fast and intimidating curves of Maggots, Becketts and Chapel.

  • 3:50 p.m.: We are ten minutes from the start and the drivers are starting to get into their cars. As for the weather, the sky is threatening and the rain could well intervene during the race.

F1 2022 British Grand Prix: Sainz takes his first pole in F1

F1 2022 British Grand Prix Sainz takes his first pole in F1-min

After participating in free practice, the drivers entered the qualifying phase of the British Grand Prix. Who took pole position? The  Answer is  below!

After being rather discreet in free practice 2, Max Verstappen set the best time in free practice 3 of the British Grand Prix with a time of 1:27.901.

The Dutch driver was well ahead of Sergio Pérez, who took some time to manage to position himself behind his teammate, and Charles Leclerc.

However, the Red Bull drivers are likely to have a little competition during qualifying, and it could notably come from Mercedes. During free practice 1 and 2, Lewis Hamilton took 2nd place in the standings.

And in free practice 3, George Russell finished in 4th place, just ahead of his teammate.

While the W13s seem almost completely free of rebounds, probably thanks to the evolutions of the single-seater but especially to the flat of the Silverstone track, the British pilots are significantly more competitive.

Qualifying should thus be the scene of a great battle of lap times between Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes. They will start at 4 p.m. and will determine the starting grid for the race, which will also be held on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Introducing the new Hyundai Ioniq 6: Detailed view and features

0
Hyundai Motor Company has released official photos of the all-electric “IONIQ 6” model exclusive to the IONIQ brand. The modern and timeless design of the highly anticipated IONIQ 6, the second model of the IONIQ brand, stands out as a remarkable privilege. The IONIQ 6, which Hyundai describes as the “Electrified Streamliner”, is aerodynamically shaped and innovatively designed for today's electric car customers to enjoy their vehicle more and create an emotional connection.

Full 64 color themes in interior ambiance

IONIQ 6 allows various expansions for optimized legroom and spaciousness for passengers to travel more comfortably. The platform also allows for a completely flat floor, offering more seating. The user-oriented interior is equipped with a centrally located control unit to reduce distractions and ensure safe driving.

This modular display, combined with the 12-inch full-touch infotainment screen, completely envelops the cockpit. Bi-colour ambient lighting also elevates the ambiance of the IONIQ 6’s interior.

Including 64 color themes specially developed for users to feel comfortable, Hyundai also helps to provide easy communication between the driver and the vehicle with 4-point interactive pixel lights on the steering wheel.

Aerodynamically flawless design

The IONIQ 6 supports the low nose structure with active air wings and wheel arches at the front. This 0.21 ultra-low friction coefficient obtained in the design, which is continued with the digital mirrors that we come across as thin, also means the lowest value among the models produced by the brand in-house.

To further contribute to the enviable aerodynamic capability of the IONIQ 6, an elliptical spoiler with blades has been used. With its tail-like structure in speedboats, the vertically positioned ventilation channels on both sides of the rear bumper create a unity and increase the downforce.
