When you notice damage to a nice car in Forza Horizon 5, it’s often very annoying. This guide explains how to fix it.
Driving a beautiful Ferrari across the Mexican desert in Forza Horizon 5 is fun, but when the sports car is covered in dust and has every crack and dent you accidentally got, you want to fix and clean the car.
Each of the 500 vehicles in Forza Horizon 5 can accumulate dirt and damage, but luckily they can all be repaired instantly with the push of a button. There’s even an option to turn off cosmetic damage entirely.
How to repair a car in Forza Horizon 5
To repair a car in Forza Horizon 5 and reset its cosmetic damage, you must first press the D-Pad up to activate photo mode and then press LB. To repair a car on PC, press P to activate photo mode, then press R. This is the default key binding for PC. If this has been changed, you have to look in your personal settings which button has been assigned for photo mode and car repair.
This will instantly reset the damage or remove the accumulated dirt that tends to accumulate when driving off-road cars in Forza Horizon 5. Some may enjoy this look, but others may find it annoying having to reset cosmetic damage every time a crash happens. Thankfully, there’s an option to disable cosmetic damage entirely.
How to disable cosmetic damage in Forza Horizon 5
To disable cosmetic damage in Forza Horizon 5 and eliminate the need to repair cars, one should stop the game and navigate to the Settings menu, located in the Campaign tab. You then select “Difficulty Level”, go down to the “Damage and Tire Wear” option and change it to “None”.
Regardless of how many times you crash at danger signs or how much dirt you collect in Forza Horizon 5’s drift zones, all the cars now look like they just got them. This option can be undone at any time.
