Max Verstappen wins the French Grand Prix and wins a 7th time this season. The Red Bull driver took advantage of Charles Leclerc’s crash to get ahead of the two Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton (2nd) and George Russell (3rd).

Built at the instigation of the famous Paul Ricard, the Castellet route hosted Formula 1 for the first time in 1971. Located north of Toulon, the Var track is renowned for its asphalt clearings and rumble strips with a unique visual identity. On this 5.842 km long route made up of 15 bends , the teams often tend to favor top speed in order to be able to overtake at the start of the north chicane which intersects the famous Mistral straight line.

This French GP marks a symbolic milestone for Lewis Hamilton! The seven-time world champion prepared to compete in his 300th GP in Formula 1.

For the first time this season, Mercedes takes a double podium! With his performance of the day, Lewis Hamilton won an 186th podium in F1 on the day of his 300th GP. The seven-time world champion therefore has more podiums than Senna and Prost combined.

Ford develops Smart car charger for disabled drivers

With the spread of electric cars, new ideas are emerging to make charging easier, especially useful for people with disabilities.

For most of us, removing the charging gun from the dispenser and attaching it to the filler neck for refueling is not difficult. However, these procedures can be quite difficult for people with disabilities, and Ford appeals to them with this robotic charging station.

A mechanical arm ‘looks for’ the socket in the vehicle and inserts the connector for charging, then pulls it out when done. The operation will be controlled via their smartphone and the driver will be able to control all these operations only via his smartphone, without ever getting out of the vehicle.

According to a recent UK survey, 61% of disabled drivers would consider purchasing an electric vehicle if charging was easier. Ford researchers, who set out for this purpose, started field trials in real situations after the first laboratory tests.

The actuation scheme allows the station to activate the robotic arm once activated. Thanks to a small camera, it finds the charging connector and plugs it into the vehicle socket. The driver sees all information about the vehicle’s charge status from his smartphone. After the vehicle is charged, the robotic arm retracts and returns to its original position.

A real battle for pole position?

This weekend again, Ferrari is obviously one of the contenders for pole position. Since the start of the season, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have been formidable in qualifying.

And according to Italian team principal Mattia Binotto, they’ve had a new rear wing for some time which has improved the F1-75’s top speed and significantly reduced its lag behind the RB18.

Aston Martin changed its logo and brand slogan

As part of its refurbishment plan, Aston Martin is announcing the new logo, accompanied by a brand new slogan.

Aston Martin has announced its new brand identity. Reiterating its position as a manufacturer of ultra-luxury performance cars, the new strategy focuses on the idea of a brand based on the slogan “Intensity”.

To reflect the emotional feeling that distinguishes the British manufacturer from other brands to the drivers. The need to embrace this new strategy stems from the change in the fan base that has chosen an Aston Martin that is much larger and more global than in previous years.

As part of this repositioning, Aston Martin comes with a new logo that always consists of the iconic winged logo, but is more minimal and easily identifiable than the previous one.

The logo was created by Aston Martin designers in collaboration with British art director and graphic designer Peter Saville. This is the brand’s first major revamp since 2003, and since Aston Martin’s founding 109 years ago, the logo has been significantly changed eight times.
